Directions:
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is located just west
of Charlotte at the N.C./S.C. state line, outside
the town of Belmont. The Garden is easily accessible
from Interstates 85 and 77.
From Spartanburg: I-85 North to Exit 20 in Gastonia.
Follow New Hope Road (N.C. Hwy 279) south 10 miles.
Garden is on the right.
 From Rock Hill: I-77 North to Exit 90. Left onto Carowinds
Boulevard for 2.5 miles. Left onto South Tryon St.
(N.C. Hwy 49) for 8.5 miles. Right onto S.C. Hwy 274
for 1 mile. Turn right at the “To 279” marker.
Garden is 3.2 miles on the left.
From
Charlotte, Southbound on I-85: I-85 South
to Exit 26 (Belmont-Belmont Abbey). Turn right onto
Highway
7 (Main Street). Travel 5 miles through Belmont. Turn
left onto NC Highway 279 (South New Hope Road). The
Garden will be 3 miles on your right.
From Charlotte, Southbound on I-77: I-77
South to Exit 2 onto I-485 West. Take Exit 1 left onto
Highway
49
(South Tryon Street). Follow Highway 49, crossing Buster
Boyd Bridge, for 10.8 miles. Turn right on SC Highway 274
for one mile. Turn right at the "To 279" marker.
The Garden is 3.2 miles on the left
Visiting Tips:
- Drinks and snacks are available in The Garden Store. Picnics and coolers are welcome anywhere on the property. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis on the terrace or at picnic tables. Please leave grills and pets at home.
- Don’t forget to bring a camera, insect repellant and sunscreen.
- Benches are located throughout the gardens.
- Artists are welcome to bring art supplies.
